Stushie, Redivivus

Just when you thought the stushie had died away, the Bookseller reports that Publishing Scotland, to whose conference the Culture Minister spoke, decided to rattle its sabres again. I was most intrigued by the comment that “Publishing Scotland belongs to its members, and they will ultimately decide where to take it”. Well, given it gets £250,000 of public money, I think the government might have a say in that as well. The Minister will apparently give a full comment on the LWG proposals in July – after the general election, and more significantly, after the flexible funding for 2011-2012 has been awarded by the Arts Council.
